WESLEYAN METHODISTS.

“An (Ecumenical Conference of Wesleyan Methodists,” we learn from the “ Daily News,” “ will be held in London in the month of October next, and for the first time in the history of (he body a duly-appointed representative assembly of Methodists from all parts of the world will meet together for the purpose of discussing subjects of interest to the entire denomination. The fact that the meeting, will behold in the autumn imparts considerable interest to the pending election of the president of the Wesleyan Conference, who will naturally be invited to preside over the deliberations of the greater assembly. Dr. Osborn and Mr William Arthur are both spoken of as candidates for the presidency of the Conference ; but as their services to Methodism give them an equal claim to the. position, it is probable, we are informed, that the choice will be determined by' seniority.”
