It scorns, iiowcver, although there is grumbling everywhere, the Committee are so bent on holidays that they can’t bring themselves to reopen on September 1, as at first proposed, but must, have another day or two. Certainly, Timaru gets a lot of good from the *• Education Act,” when a third of the tcjiool year is given up *0 holiday making, and the parents have a good deal to bo thankful for. —I am &c.
