A SUSPICIOUS FIRE.
[By Telegraph.] • Christchurch, August 13. Last night Malcolm Miller’s (shipwright) shed at Corsair Bay, Lyttelton, and the ketch XXX which was on the slip wore destroyed by tire. The ketch was formerly owned by George Clarke, and was handed over to a trustee in his estate yesterday, having been withheld for some time for payment of wages due to those who had charge of her. There was no one living on board the ketch, so that the cause of the fire is at present shrouded in mystery.
