There was no appearance for the plaintiff and the case was struck out, defendant’s costs being allowed. r J be plaintiff afterwards appeared and applied for a re hearing, which was granted for the 28rd inst. Priest and another v E. Pony—Claim, £1 2s 0 1. Judgment for amount and 8? costs. Clarke and Ilaini-i v Thompson, Adjourned to August 10.
Howley v Union Steam Shipping Companj'—Claim, £1 17 9d. Adjourned to August 16. Fonseca v Boardman—Claira£l 2s 6d. Adjourned to August 16. Hinckley v Murphy. Adjourned to August 16. Murphy v Hinckley—Claim, £5 6s. Judgment by consent, with £1 12s costs. Execution to be stayed until after hearing the preceding case. Matthews and another v Daley. This was an action brought for the return of a calf, or £2, the value of the calf, and £3 damages for detention. Mr White appeared for plaintiff ; Mr Hamersley for defendant. Mr Hamersley stated. that his client was prepared to give up the calf, but objected to pay damages for the detention. The calf was ordered to be given up within three days, the defendant to pay plaintiffs’ costa, amounting to £5 4s.
