[Reuter’s Agency.j The Land Bill in the Lords. London, August 2. In the House of Lords to day the Irish Land Bill was read a second time after a brief debate. They have got their DesertsThe trial of of the two men, McGrath and McDevitt, on a charge of attempting to destroy the Liverpool Town Hall on June 10 last, was concluded to -day. Both prisoners were found guilty, McGrath being sentenced to ocual servitude for life, and McDevitt to fifteen years’ imprisonment. Not Signed Yet. Capetoivn, August 3. Telegrams to hand.to-day from Pretoria state that the Transvaal Convention has not been signed, as was stated in previous telegrams. The final settlement is delayed, as the Royal Commission are still awaiting the arrival of despatches from the British Government
approving of the draft which was forwarded to England.
