LAND IN THE NORTH.

The “ New Zealand Times ” writes : An enterprise of a novel character, but which, nevertheless, contains features which must commend themselves to ail except landsharks, is now being floated in this colony, and the prospectus has already been published. The proposal is to float a company, with a capital of £500,000 in 100,000 shares of £5 each, for the purpose of settling native lands on the East Coast of the North Island. The idea is that 30,000 shares shall be put upon tho market, the remaining 70,000 being allotted to owners of native lands who arc willing to put their property into the enterprise, such shares to be considered as the original shares.
