Land Dispute. New Plymouth, July 13. Mr Parris returned to town last night from Pungaro. He stated that had not succeeded in settling the difficulty with the natives re disputed ground. It is about half an acre (?) in extent, and adjoins a rative reserve. The natives refuse to cultivate any but the disputed land, which is on a hill, and is fit for the purpose they say they want it for. Stabbing a ConstableDunedin, July 13. Thomas Thomas, was committed for trial for stabbing Constable Latter, who ejecting him from a restaurant, when Thomas, without provocation, struck him with a knife over the region of the heart. The wound is severe, but not dangerous.
