By »n oversight yesterday, in our report of the libel case, Wildie and others v. Geo. Green, we stated that Mr G. H, Wildie gave evidence on behalf of his firm, whereas it was Mr Allan who did so. The mistake was a tolerably transparent one, as the report stated later on fiat Mr Wildie was away attending a sale and was thus precluded from being present at the Court.

An amusing incident occurred yesterday afternoon on the Breakwater. Several gentlemen whose patois proclaimed them from the “ Imerald Oisle,” were standing by the loose blocks at the end, and one of them, observing the big gap made by the removal of the surface blocks by the steam crane, in order to make way for the monolith, remarked, in the tone of one who has just made a discovery, “Bedad but that’s a gap, anyway.
