EDUCATION BOARD.
A special meeting of the South Canterbury Board of Education was held this morning for the purpose of receiving a deputation from theWa’mate School Committee and Boiough Council (jointly). The deputation asked the Board’s co-operation in endeavoring to secure by special legislation a piece of land in Waimate township, for a new school site.
The matter was approved by the Board, and the members for Timaiu and Geraldine will bo asked to push on the matter.
