June 20, A telegram from Havelock, reports that Peter Gome was drowned in a creek ot the foot of Tolnra Hill on bis way to Nelson on Saturday night. The body has been recovered. Eire in DunedinDunedin, June 20. A fire occurred in the upper part of Gilchrist’s paperhanging shop. He estimates his loss through damage by water at £IOOO. He is insured for £SOOO in the National, Victoria, Standard, South British, and New Zealand offices.
