Cambria, barque, from Launceston,early, Bebington, barque, from Melbourne daily. During the gale on Saturday, the ship Pareora lost a coir spring. The waves were washing her decks fore and aft, and this was also the case with the barque Andes. The latter had both her anchors down or she would ceitainly have had to have gone to sea. The Hannah Barrett slipped at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday, and went out to sea for safetv. All the surf lines were earned away during the recent heavy weather. Boats were out this morning endeavoring to pick them up. The Timaru Volunteer Rocket Brigade turned out on Friday night, and spent part of Saturday and Sunday night as well in watching at the Lighthouse, Ihc bad weather rendering it probable that their services might be wanted. For their conduct on this and many previous occasions they are entitled to all praise.
