A CAUTION.

[to the editor.] Sir, —I think it my duty to inform you that some miscreant is in the habit of wearing a mask and a sheet, and lays himself out to frighten young girls and women who have occasion to be out at night. One poor woman was so frightened last week, that she had to be taken to the hospital. The cowardly hound has never stuck up a man, for prudential reasons I suppose. He was last seen in North street, and as I have to go that way every nignt, I am now accompanied by a neat little six shooter, and shall not have the slightest scruple in trying what effect lead will have on the apparition if it comes in ray way, and I trust your readers will treat it in the same way. Since I wrote the above I know two young girls who have been terrified by the same villian. Hoping you will allow me space for this m your valuable paper.—l am &c. G. THOMSON.
