The English mail from Christchurch on Saturday was unusually heavy, and comprised,B9G9 letters, 42 -bags books and newspapers, estimated to contain over 20,000. Bigamy. Ashburton, May 23. A man named Cheriton was arrested on Friday, charged with bigamy at Oamaru in 1879, and brought before the Resident Magistrate on Saturday evening and remanded to Oamaru.
