, Some interesting conrsing took place it the Racecourse to-day, some 60 or 70 people assembling to witness the running of Messrs Hurt’s and Hoskins’- dogs. In the first match Mr Hurt’s , fawn bitch, Yorkshire Less, was backed by him at £2O to £lO. The course was about £2OO yards, and resulted in an easy win for the fawn bitch. i Time—About 2min. A second course between the same dogs, the betting being the same, resulted in Hoskins black bitch, Wheel of Fortune’ winning a grand race ; she was in the pink of condition and reflected credit on her trainer Mr Hickson. The distance was about 2 miles. Mr Hurt’s bitch was not in good form or would probably have given a better account of herself. Time—4 to 5 min. By Telegraph. Oamaeu, May 5.
