Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under ; Saturday, April 23.
For Northern Ports of New Zealand per Hawea, at 2.50 p.m. For Australian Colonies, per Arawata, at 12.40 p.m. For the United Kingdom, via San Fraaoisco, the Continent of Europe, America, Africa, and the Sandwich Islands,, as follows :
Money orders, registered. Itetters • and newspapers, at 2.30 p m. Ordinary letters at. %30'PiM. Late fee l&Uers. will be received at the Ohiof Post Office till 2.50 p.m., and at the Railway Travelling Post Office mail van (Northern Express Train) till 3.20 p.m(Signed), W. W. Beswick, Acting Chief Postmaster. Ohief Post Office, Timaru, April 12, 1881.
