The Greeks Exasperated.
Athens, April 16.
A large meeting of the people took place here to-day in consequence of the action.of Government in accepting the proposals lately made by the Porte for the settlement of the frontier question. The matter was discussed in excited language, and speeches were made denouncing the policy of the Government. Agitation is increasing throughout the Country.
Afghan Affairs. Calcutta April 16
The force despatched by the Ameer to Candahar has arrived, and the Governor appointed by him was installed to day.
London, April 16
The Tichborne case has been again brought before the public. The solicitor for the claimant has been engaged collecting evidence for the purpose of submitting the whole case to Parliament, asking its intervention on the ground that new facts have since been brought to light. The will of the late Thomas Carlyle, the well known author, has been proved. His personal property is sworn at £35,000. Adverse winds are delaying the arrival of wool from Australia now due.
