In the Legislative Council this evening a Select Committee was appointed to inquire into and repoit upon the Bill for the reform of the Constitution now before the House, Charles Augustus Improving. His Excellency the Marquis of Normanby is recovering from bis attack of fever and ague, and is to-day much better. Warm Awards. The following further Exhibition awards to New Zealand exhibitors are awarded :—For white pepper, first order of merit, Gregg and Co., Dunedin ; D. Strong, Invercargill ; and Trent Bros., Christchurch. The same exhibitors take second orders of merit for other exhibits of the same class, and Trent Bros., of Christchurch, take an additional third order of merit. Fish and Politics. Sydney, April 6. A count out of the Legislative Council last night has precluded the intended prorogation of Parliament to-day. The frozen fish from England by the Lusitania has arrived in excellent condition.
