A singular fatality has befallenthe family of Mr James Henderson of Oamaru; About a year ago Mr Henderson lost a son in-law, a well known and respectable farmer in the district, the deceased having fallen from bis horse while riding from town with medicine for a sick child. On Friday last another son in-law Mr James Stuart Campbell was riding into town from the racecourse, when he lost control of his horse, was thrown off and fractured his skull, the result being that he died at 4 on Saturday afternoon. Thus we have two near relatives killed in an exactly similar manner, within twelve months of each other. The deceased in this instance was in the prime of life. He was a native of Perthshire, Scotland, and was much esteemed in the Oamaru district where he was well known. Another important industry has just been added to the list of manufactures produced in Timaru. Within the past week Hr T. B. Cobum has opened an establishment in Heaton street, where he intends carrying on the general business of dyeing, scouring, and renovating.
