[Reuter’s Agency.} , A Balloon Explosion. Sydney, March 16. L’Estrange. the aeronaut, made an ascent from the Domain last, night and in descending,his balloon came on to the top of a house in Woolloomooloo. The roof gave way and the balloon was torn. The escaping gas communicated with the lights in the house, and an explosion was caused. The balloon was completely destroyed, hut no serious damage was done to the house or other premises adjoining, and L’Estfange escaped without injury. There was a large crowd in the street witnessing the descent of the balloon, and when the explosion occurred a panic ensued, and in the crush and confusion several persons were slightly injured. 1 End of A Celebrated Murderer. It is currently reported here that Sullivan, the New Zealand murderer, died in.tbe Hospital at Wagga Wagga last week. Passed by; Default. Melbourne, March 16. In the Legislative Assembly last night the consideration of the Reform Bill in Committee of the whole was resumed. The members of Opposition abstained from discussion and the various clauses of the measure were passed by the Committee. The Bill was reported to the House, and the third reading agreed to for Tuesday next.
