WANGANUI RACES. [By Telegraph.] First Day. Wanganui, March 11. The following were the concluding events:— Maiden Plate, of 60 sovs ; one and a half miles. Mr Redwood’s Frailty ... 1 Blue Gown ... 2 Chandler ... .... ... 3 Ten started. 130 tickets at £2 were in the totalisator. Venture went away with the lead, and held it for a mile, when Frailty and Blue Gown went ahead, and ran a good race homo, Mr Redwood's filly winning by half a length. Time —Imin s}sec, Distbict Handicap, of 100 sovs ; two miles. My Dream, 7st 1 Sincerity, 6st 71b 2 Messenger... 3 Nine started, 132 tickets at £2 were in the totaisator, 18 being on the winner. This was a very pretty race, Caraclia leading on sufferance for a time, when My Dream. Sincerity, Messenger, and Opawa passed him and came into the straight together. The finish was a most exciting one, My Dream winning by a head, the two next being close together, Opawa fourth. Time—3 min 45 sec. Consolation of 48 sovs. One mile and a distance. Dan, Bst, 51b 1 Annuity, Gat 81b 2 Billingsgate, 9st 71b ... 3 Four started. Won after a very pretty race by a head. Time—2min 4sec. This brought a most successful meeting to a close. Over £4OOO went through the totalisator during the two days. TAPANUI RACES. Tapanui, March 11. Tapanui Handicap. Tom King 1 Ladies' Pubse. Nautilus 1 NASEBY RACES. [By Telegeaph.] Dunedin, March 12. At the Naseby Races yesterday Sailor Boy won the three principal events.
