fP.EE "TiMES”SpECIAL WIEE.I Xioss of a Steamer. Wellington, March 5. The steamer Mohaka, which wont ashore at Blenheim yesterday, is reported this morning as likely to become a total wreck. She has been abandoned and a heavy sea is now breaking on the bank. She is owned by Capt. Syraonds and four others, and is insured for £SOO in the Victoria office. Bicycle Biding;. Christchurch, March 5. The Pioneer Bicycle Club held their races this afternoon. The weather is fine and there is a large attendance. The Club handicap of 1 mile resulted as follows : —Norris, 275yds, I ; Dalton, 250yds, 2 ; Clark, 360yds, 3. It was a good race. Time—3min. Ssecs. Amateur Sports. The Amateur Athletic Club’s first annual sports was held this afternoon. There was but a small attendance.
