In the House of Commons last night, the Irish Arms Bill was read a first time, and the measure was voted “ urgent,” in order to give the Speaker power to suppress obstruction to its passage through the House. With a similar object, the consideration of Supply was also declared urgent. Jupiter takes the Field. Capetown, March. 3. Intelligence has been received that the proposals of peace which had been made to the Basutos by the commander of the colonial forces have remained unanswered, and that the armistice has accordingly ceased. ]N T o further operations can be proceeded with on account of heavy rains.
