MINING NEWS.

Auckland, Feb. 7, Rich specimens from the mines in the Tiki districts, Coromandel goldfields, are likely to cause a rush to that district. The New Zealand Timber Company, which holds a large estate there, advertise it open for mining leases on most liberal terms. Wellington, Jan. 7. Several lease applications haying been granted in the Warden’s Court, Collingwood, for claims at Mount Arthur, the reefs there will he thoroughly tested and work pressed on. Dr Hector’s report on the stone from these reefs gives over 14ozs to the ton.
