The annual meeting of the Lyttelton District took place on Saturday last in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Lyttelton. Present —Prov. G.M. Win. Leggott (in the chair), Prov. D.G.M. C. Burns, Prov. C.S. A. McWilliams ; Delegates: City of Norwich Lodge, P.P.G.M. J. Sowden, P.G. T. Ockford, P.G. J. Gilford, and Secretary G. Dimond ; Good Intent Lodge, Akaroa, P.G. Wm Sims ; Tiinaru Lodge, P.G. J. Simpson and G.M. 11. Walkey ; Arowhenua Lodge, P.G. D. Leach ; Heart of Friendship Lodge, P.G. D. Watts; Hand and Heart Lodge, P.P.G.M. Wm. Turner.

The Grand Master congratulated the delegates on the continued success of the District, stating that during the past six months a Lodge had boon opened at Woodbury, and that an application had been received from Barry's Bay, asking for a dispensation to open a Lodge there.

A considerable amount of correspondence inwards and outwards was road. The application to open a lodge at Barry’s Bay was granted. It was resolved that the services of Messrs Black and Leslie be procured for the purpose of valuing the district. The balancesheet for the past half-year was received and adopted. The election of officers was then proceeded with and resulted as follows;—P.G.M., D.G-,M. C. Burns; D.P.G.M., P.G.J. Simpson ; C.S., A. McWilliams. These were duly installed by P.P.G-.M. Bro. Turner. P.P.G,W. Loggot, Timaru ; P.G-. William Sims, Akaroa ; and Per. Sec. D. Watts, Waimato were appointed Lodge examiners, Resolved —“ That the next District meeting be held in Waimate.” The following degrees were conferred Past Vice Grands, Bro. H. Baker. Past Noble Grands, Bros, T. H. Lanyon, T. Ockford.antl H. Walkey. Purple Degree, P.G.’s T. 11. Lanyon, P. Childs. A vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring officers. The minutes of the meeting were read and confirmed and the lodge duly closed.
