SUEZ MAIL NEWS.

FIRST EDITION.

The following appeared in our town edition of last night)

The Conservative campaign against Irish and Eastern policy o£ the Government was actively commenced on the 2Gth ult. by a speech from the Marquis of Salisbury, in which he accused the Government of allowing Ireland to drift helplessly into anarchy and charging Mr Gladstone with alienating England’s allies in order to commit England to an alliance with Russia, after the destruction of Turke} r . A great battle is now impending at Geok Leppi (s/c), where the Turcomans have concentrated their whole force, numbering over 36,00*. The greater portion of the Russian army has crossed over to the north eastern slope, and encamped near Bali. A serious difliculty has arisen between Austria and Servia, owing to the refusal of the latter to fulfil the obligations under the Treaty of Berlin by placing Austria on the “ most favored nation’’ footing in commercial relations. Austria has peremptorily demanded that Servia shall fulfil her engagements. A letter from Mr Labouchere, recently published, declares that the English Radicals cannot support Mr Parnell unless the Land League distinctly disavows certain of the means employed for accomplishing its objects. The expulsion of unrecognised religious orders from France continues, in spite of the protest from the Pope.
