S. G. Times Office. _ Monday Evening. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report:— Horses—2s draught and licht harness horses were entered on Saturday, but the amusements interfered with the attendance. Out of the total 12 were sold,, all chiefly ha “ks, at prices from £B. to £ll—two useful young farm mares fetching, one £25, und one £2O. For heavy draughts there was no,demand, On Tuesday they held a sale of a large number of horses and implements on account of the Three Springs station, and succeeded in selling the whole stock and plant brought down for sale, 25 horses .having been placed at an average of £2l, and the implements lit fair values. Sheep—The demand for crors-bred store sheep at present is very active. They have placed pi irately one line of cross-bred ewes, consisting of 7000, at a satisfactory figure, and GOO cross-bied hoggets also at fair value. Fat Cattle.—They have sold several small lots at prices equal to 20s per lOOib. Messrs William Collins and Co. report holding their sale by auction and market on Saturday last. The attendance was owing to the powerful attraction elsewhere on - that day, small, : consequently few lines were quitted. The following are the figures obtained during the day :—Hams, 8d ; bacon, 7d ; flour, £lO per ton ; potatoes (new).-fd per lb ; old, 3s Gd per sack ; onions, 3d per lb ; fowl wheat, os to Gs per sack ; cheese, -lid to 5d per lb ; poultry was in good supply, and demand ; fowls 3s to 4s Gd per pair ; ducks, 3s to 6s per pair} turkeys, cocks, 8s each ; hens, 4s 6d each; pigeons, 6s per dozen ; box tea, IGs to 18s ; No 1 Company’s sugar, -lid per lb; soap, 14s per cwt. Household furniture, china, glass nni earthenawarc, and sundries, were passed for sale during the week. Wellington. Dec. 18. Messrs Leary and Campbell report:— Cherries, 4s and gooseberries, 3s Gd per half case; new potatoes, Is to 4s Gd ; onions Id to lid, cheese, -lid to od; bacon and hams, 7d to 8d; po lard, £5 10s; other produce, without alteration.
