LICENSING COURT.
An adjourned sitting of the Licensing Court was then held before Messrs Bectham, Hall, BelJicld, and Elworthy. TI.KASAXT .POINT. The applicatian for a transfer of license for the Railway Hotel, Pleasant Point, from Thomas Connon to Mrs Hope, was refused. TltK KI'XiATTA BOOTH. Mr Hamcrslcy applied on behalf of Mr J. Richmond and the Regatta Committee, for a temporary extension of Mr Richmond's license, he having purchased the liquor booth at the Regatta. The application was opposed by the police on the grounds that the, booth would bo close to three licensed houses, TI ic Bench took the same view of the matter, despite Mr Hamcrsley’s arguments, and refused the application. MAKIKIUI BACKS Mr White made an application on behalf of Mr Poffof the Makikilu Hotel for a temporary extension of his license in order to enable him to erect a booth for the sale of liquors at the Makikihi Races tomorrow. The Bench, on ascertaining that the racecourse, was half a mile from the township said that was quite different from the last application, and granted it.
