The usual monthly meeting of (lie Board was held on Tuesday. Present— Messrs Win. Postlethwaite (Chairman), Win. Deßoiizy, .John Godsell, Win! Upton Slack, and Frederic B. Flatman. The following tenders were opened;— No, 67 —Painting Hoad Board Office— J. 1). Gore, £8 10s. Unsolved, “ That the Board provide material and accept Air Gore’s tender for labor.” No. 68— Footbridge at Tooincy’s—John Fificld, £l4 10s; Arthur Best, £l2; Fly and Annals, £ll (accepted). No 69 Kakahu bush road—Win. Gould, £24 10s; Timothy Coffey, £l7; William Kennedy-, £l7 ; James ALcCool, £l4 10s ; Thomas Corkery, £U) 19s ; Jonas Fifleld, £l2 (accepted.) No. 70 —Beautiful Valley road—Timothy' Coffee, £129; John Johnson, £95; Alichael O’Brien, £B9 10s ; Michael Tangney, £79; AVm. Kennedy', £74; James McCool £69 ; Thomas Corkery, £67 10s; Alichael Lunch, £SO ; Stephen Courtney', £SO ; Thomas Oregon £ls (accepted.) HFikfiiTMessrs -Moore-Bros with reference to a siiort length of road near Gapes’ bush to be formed and gravelled. Besolved —That the same be done, the overseer to apply to the applicants for the gravel. ...... From Mr M. Fitzgerald, with reference, to cutting the grass in the reserves whore trees are planted. •Resolved—That, as the contractor has to keep the plantations in order for a period of 24 months, the Board will not interfere with Mr Fitzgerald in cutting the grass in the reserves. From Mr .Robert Irvine, Clerk Mount Peel Load Board, re the division of the. Boundary road.
Approved. From Mr Clark, asking the Board to repair the road near Opnha river. deferred to the Mount Peel Load Board, as the road is in their district. From Mr James Tasker, asking permission to erect a verandah. Proposed by Mr Fiatmau, seconded by Mr -John Godsell—“That the nominations of-members at the annual meeting of ratepayers be held on the first Tuesday in January, I SSI, at 12 noon, and a poll, if demanded, to take place on Friday, Jan. 7, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Overseer’s report was read and considered, and the following rcsoluwere passed : “The Board approve of oxira forming being done on the road from Waihi to Orari.” “ Tenders to bo invited for cement.” The Inspector of Nuisances’ report was read and approved. Resolved-—“ That the Clerk advertise a meeting of Ratepayers to elect three persons in the room of Messrs "William Postlethwaito, William Deßenzy and John Godsell who retire in accordance with the ordinance.”
Mr Slack applied for permission to plough up the gorge growing on the road adjoining his property.
Granted Accounts to the amount of £Bl9 5s were passed for payment. The Hoard then adjourned until the second week in January, at 10 a.m.
