AGRICULTURAL & PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the above Association was held in the office of the secretary— Mr Stubbs, to-day. Present: —-Messrs F. Archer (in the chair) McLean, Scaly, Balfour, McKerrow, Ford, and Stewart. Correspondence was read from the manager of the Bank of New Zealand, intimating that an overdraft of £2OO had been acceded to. Mr Robert Matthews wrote acknowledging a cheque for £3 for prizes at the late show, and asking that the special prize offered by Jonas Hart and Wildie, for the best draught entire should be awarded to his exhibit, and not to Renfrew Jock as the latter belonged to a company. It was resolved as Renfrew Jock belonged to a company of farmers in the district that the award could not be interfered with. Messrs Perry and Perry wrote relative to the conveyance of land, asking forinstrnctions. The letter was refeiud to the secretary, who was requested to ascertain whether it would be necessary to appoint trustees. Mr Alexander Potter replied to a memo requesting payment of his annual subscription to the effect that he had merely subscribed on the previous year with the view of reducing the entrance fees on his carriage horses. The secretary stated that the receipts for the year amounted to £932 and the expenditure was £1153 leaving a debt of £197. The outstanding accounts which lie would be able to collect shortly he estimated at £B7. The Committee considered that in view of the heavy expenses incurred during the year the finances were in a most satisfactory state. Mr T. Roberts was elected a life member of the Association in recognition of gratuitous services rendered. The passing of accounts and transaction of some further routine business, terminated the meeting.
