[Pee “Times” Special Wire.] Communication with Fiji. Auckland Dec. 9. It is probable that with the assistance of the Lord High Cammissioner and Government of Fiji, arrangements may ultimately be made by which the present monthly service may be superseded by a fortnightly service and farther that a regular steam service may be instituted between Tonga and Fiji. The Frisco Mall. Wellington, Dec. 9. The Australia, with the London mails of Nov. 4, left ’Frisco for Auckland on Nov. 21, one day earlier than the time-table sailing date. She is due on Monday next. The City of Sydney, with the November colonial mails, arrived at ’Frisco on the 30th Nov, two days in advance of contract time. Christchurch Criminal. Christchurch, Dec. 10. At the Magistrates Court to-day Henry Francis Evans, brought up on three charges of unnatural offence was remanded.

,Refractory Deputation. Dunedin, Dec. 9. A deputation from the City Council waited on Mr Oliver, asking the removal of the Harbor Board offices in order that Cumberland street might be carried straight through, the building now being in the centre of the street. Mr Oliver replied that he was determined the buijding should remain where it is, and be used as railway offices until a permanent station is built. The City Council are disposed to pull down the building in exercise of their powers.
