DUNEDIN J.C, SPRING MEETING
[By TioLKGKArn.] Dunkoix, Nov. HO. The first (ley’s events have been marred by the state of the weather. From early morning the weather has been unsettled, and towards noon*a drenching rain rendered the course sloppy and uncomfortable. The weather has been showery up to the time of telegraphing, and the attendance on the course has consequently been limited. The grand stand has a most unfeminine and deserted appearance, and even the betting men under their ginghams look dejected and careworn. Money seems to be decidedly scarce, the total'isator is suffering from the prevailing depression, and the racecourse with its patrons seems saturated with rain and want of money.
The only redeeming feature on the course is the publican’s booths, over the bars of winch a steady but prosperous trade is being done. The following are the results : Handicap Hurdle Race of Bosovs. One mile and :i-half. Mr J. IT. Lnnn’s h g Clarence, aged, list 41b _ 1 Mr H. Gonrley’s ch g Kildare, aged, 9st 101 b ... ... 2 Mr G.
