IMPUDENT ROBBERY.
The day before yesterday, Ur Gbilton. tbc newly appointed Resident Surgeon at the Tiiniim Hospital, was robbed of a silver watch, gold Albert chain, gold kev, and pencil case of tbc total value of" £2O. Lr Cbiiton had placed liis watch, Ac., on bis dressing table while making Ids usual morning rounds. At one o’clock be returned to his room and discovered that the valuables were missing, and be at once gave information In tbc police. Tbc robbery is supposed to be tbc work of one or more of the outpatients, but as yet the affair is shrouded in mystery. Detective Kirby is invesf ig'a ting* the inattei. and is confident of dbc ivering a clue to the theft. Dr Clinton, who has not yet been a month at the Hospital, will have but a poor opinion after this of the gratitude of Timaru patients.
