The Borough Council’s ordinary fortnightly meeting will take place this evening,

At the Waimatc UAL Court on Friday last the man Thompson charged with embezzlement from his employer Mr Rickman, was remanded until Thursday, bail being accepted for his appearance, self |in £IOO and two sureties of £JO each. Other charges it is said arc pending against the accused.

A working man of foreign extraction passed through the Waiau township on Wednesday, on bis way to Blenheim, wheeling a barrow containing bis stock-in-trade. He had wheeled it from Invercargill.
