The Hon. C. J. Pharazyn, Chairman of the Wellington Education Board has discovered the soundnees of an old proverb, re a man being his own client. The late headmaster of the Fcatherstonc school summoned the Board for £3l -Is (salary) and the Board decided to defend the action. Mr Pharazyn intimating that [professional assistance would be [quite unnecessary. When the ease came on, on Monday last Mr Pharazyn so bungled it, that he was easily defeated by the plaintiff’s counsel (Mr Fitzherbert), on every point, and the Magistrate finally adjourned the ease, declining to hear it unless the Board appeared by their lawyer.
