ODDFELLOW SHIP.

A lodge in connection with the 1.0.0. F., M.U., was opened yesterday, at Woodbury, by Bro Wm. Leggett, P.G.M. of the Lyttelton district,assisted by P.P.G-.M. Bro Wm. Padgct, of the Loyal Timaru Lodge, P.G-. Oscar Louis, Elliott, and X. Gr. Weir, of the Loyal Arowhcnua Lodge, also P. G. McKay, of the Loyal Arrow Lodge. Previous to initiating the new members the lodge was opened by the District Oflicers in the usual manner. Fifteen candidates for membership were then initiated. The dispensation to open the lodge being read by the P.G-.M. the Loyal Woodbury lodge was declared to be constituted in accordance with the rules of the Order. The following brethren were elected to fill the various ILGr., Bro. J. Dean, senr. ; V.G., Bro, G. Noble ; secretary, Bro. J. Dealt, Junr.; G.M.. Bro J. Fraser ; treasurer, Bro. G. Wood ; lodge surgeon, Bro. Hayes. After the usual routine business the lodge was closed. Afterwards upwards of forty members and friends sat down to an excellent dinner, provided by Host Burton of the Woodbury Hotel to which ample justice was done. The proceedings wound up with a ball held in the schoolroom. Great praise is due to the district ollieers for the dispatch shown in opening the lodge; also to Bros. Louis and Dean for their indefatigable exertions in the matter. Several candidates arriving late, their initiations was deferred until the next lodge night.
