FARMERS’ CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION.

FIRST EDITION.

The following appeared in onr town edition of Saturday)

—— Meetings of farmers and others interested in the “ co-operative ” movement were held at Makikihi, on Friday, and at Waimate, on Saturday evening. At both places Mr Win. Bateman lectured to numerous and attentive audiences. At the former place Mr Mcllhvraith presided, and at the conclusion of the lecture a hearty vote of thanks was .carried. At Waimate, Mr John Bradshaw presided, and explained at some length the objects of the promoters. We regret that pressure on onr space has crowded out our report of the meetings and lectures from this issue. To-morrow night the final lecture of the series will be delivered at Mr Green’s large storeroom.
