TIMARU REGATTA.

A meeting of the Begatta Committee was held this afternoon at the George Street Landing Service office, for the purpose of arranging a programme of events for Dec. IG. Present—Captain Mills (in the chair), and Messrs M. White, P. Bradley, S. Graham, J. Hill, B. Stansell, E. Smith and Cummings. The canvassing committee reported having collected about £SO. The following programme was then drawn up : 1. Landing Service Pace, 3 miles. 2, Amateurs’ Pace (four oars with rudder) length of boats not to exceed 25ft ; 21 miles.

3. Sailing Race, in open boat; time allowance. Distance to be decided by committee.

4. Sculler’s Race, miles. 5. Pair-oar Race ; 2 miles ; inrigged handicap. G. Champion Race (handicap), 4 miles ; open to all boats pulling four oars and upwards. 7. Sculling Race, 1 mile. 8. Pair Oar Stump Outrigger Race, 2 miles. 9. Tub Race. A prize will be given for the most amusingly dressed tubman. 10. Duck Hunt. 11. Volunteer Race, 2 miles; for members of Rocket, Artillery, and Fire brigades; to be pulled in Landing Service whale boats. All competitors in uniform. 12. Greasy bowsprit.
