MAGISTERIAL.

TIMAIUJ —THIS DAY. (Before B. Beetham, Esq., R.M.) DKUNKKNNKSS. An inebriate was fined os or 2-4 hours’ imprisonment. FURIOUS RIDING. Michael Rooney was lined ds for this offence. Inspector Ponder said that the case was not n very serious one, and his Worship remarked that he might have overlooked it altogether but for the unwarrantable impertinence of the defendant, who had met him (Mr Beetham) in the street that morning, and walked with him to the Court house relating by the way all about the horse he had been riding, and begging him to let him off. The defendant had better understand the great liberty he had taken, and refrain in future from interviewing a magistrate before his case was heard.'
