An inebriate appeared in his sliirt sleeves, and pleaded that be had come into town yesterday “to get a few things” and had had a glass or two too much. He remembered nothing more. His Worship told the accused that he should be careful when he came into town in future. Fined os. A second inebriate was also lined os. ALLEGED LARCEXY AS A RAILEE. Frederick Badcock was charged on remand with the larceny of ;30s, the property of one Heysed.of Fairlic Creek. Mr Hamersley appeared for the accused. Mr White intimated that he had been retained yesterday evening to prosecute. No further evidence was taken, Ilia Worship remarking that as there was some question as to the offence being legally speaking larceny, he would enlarge the accused’s recognizances for a week, and take time to consider his decision. CIVIL CASES. In the following cases judgment was given for the plaintiff with costs ; Childs and anr. v Jas. Lickus, £2l 3s 0d ; Johnson’s trustee’s v Williams, £4 18s !M ; Strachan’s trustees v Osborne, £25 7s 7d. Same v Hathaway—Claim, £4 Gs. This was a claim for goods supplied to the defendant’s wife before her marriage. Mr Hamersley for defendant. The plaintiffs were nonsuited. Slow v. Annis—Claim £B7 13s. Mr Tosswill for plaintiff ; Air White for defendant. This was a claim for building a cob house at Burke’s Bass. A set-off was put in. Judgment for plaintiff for £1 3s 9d.
