SOUTH CAXTEPBFPT v DUXEDIX. The eagerly looked for match between fifteen of the South Canterbury Football Club and fifteen of Dunedin came off on Saturday afternoon in Air Foster’s paddock Wai-iti road. The leather hunting was commenced by Dunedin kicking oil’, and a scries of scrimmages followed, in which Craig, Ilamerton, Fenwick, and Pose figured conspicuously, Pose being (he first to score a goal. On resuming play, Bell kicked oil: for Timaru, and some capital sport ensued, the local team securing three touchdowns. The rest of the game was well contested, hut the Dunedinites, who were in grand form, proved themselves masters of the position. The final scores were : Dunedin, two goals and four tries ; Timam, three tries. In the evening the visitors were entertained at a dinner in the Sophia street hall, for which Air Witt catered in his usual liberal style.
