In the House o£ Representatives the Ministry maintained that the notification of a rote of want of confidence was out of order before thq Governor’s Speech. The Speaker ruled to the contrary, and the Ministry quitted the House. The motion was ultimately carried. Destruction of a Tlxeatre. Hvdxey, July 23. A lire broke out in the Victoria Theatre in Pitt street, shortly after the performance closed last night. It soon gained such a hold that all efforts to extinguish i.t failed, and the building was completely destroyed. No lives were lost, and the buildings adjoining the Theatre were only slightly injured. The Theatre was uninsured and the loss is estimated at £12,000.
