LEVELS ROAD BOARD.
An adjourned meeting of the Bo ard was held to-day. Present— Messrs Beswick (chairman), Mce, Shaw, and Mackintosh. The following tenders were accepted : iMo 10. Forming Wai-iti footpath, J. Horgan, ,CGI. No 20. Forming of Butherford’s road, <J. J. Connor, Too. SPJJCIAL KATK. It was resolved to strike a special rate on Tuesday to collect half the cost of forming the Wai-iti footpath. GJtLVHKAH IUTH. The Board also decided to give notice of their intention to strike a general rate of sixpence in the pound at next meeting. Tim (,'OUXTV HATH. The following resolution was carried ; —“ That this Board strongly objects to the proposal to strike a county rate for the purpose of bridging the Opihi I’dvcr, and would respectfully recommend that application be made to the proper quarter for utilising the railway bridge for traffic purposes in the same manner as the Waitaki Bridge is now used, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the members representing this district, requesting them to give it their support. The Board then adjourned.
