[Per “Times” Special Wire.] Dunedin Criminal Sessions. Dunedin, Juno 29. There arc seven cases for trial at the criminal session. Except a manslaughter case, the charges are unusually light. Pertinacious Publicans. Invercargill, June 29. It is rumored that in the two cases in Southland in which licenses were refused, the hotels will be opened as ’Working Men’s Clubs, the proprietors acting as'managcrs. This evasion is said to be easily practicable under the present state of the law regarding Clubs. In one case the license was lost over the notorious case of “ lambing down ” which was reported lately. A Backward Move. The Southland members intended to move for the repeal of the Triennial Parliaments Act. The Latest Drama. A local author announces the production.of an Australian drama,entitled “ The Kellys.”
