[Reuter’s Agency.] ~ Political. Melbourne, June 24. The “Argus ” of to-day, in a leader on the present state of parties in the House, anticipates that the division will show each party with 42. There is only one doubtful vote. Efforts are being made to bring about a compromise regarding joint sitting, and to have the clause providing for the same eliminated. A caucus of un-oilicial Ministerialists was held yesterday to discuss the proposal, but no understanding was come to.
