Payment of Members. Meuiourne, June 17,

The Payment of Members Pill was again under discussion in the Legislative Assembly last night. An amendment, proposed by Mr Murray Smith, to exclude the payment of members of the Legislative Council was defeated on a division of-IS to 2-M No progress has been made with tbo measure, and Mr "Williams, the member in charge, threatens to abandon it; unless the House deals rapidly with it. Angry scenes occurred in the Chamber last night in consequence of impediments placed in the way of the Pill passing. Siiippins Hows. Messrs Money Wig-rum have decided to withdraw from the Australian trade and are going to sell their vessels.
