They won £6B, and Westropp gave a cheque, but afterwards stopped it, and. communicated with the police. Gallaghar, the landlord of the hotel, was fined £lO for permitting gambling. A Mutinous Ship. Ten more boys have absconded from the Naval Training School. Three were ' captured, and three are still missing. Gather Them In. The Ketch, Forest Queen, recently beached at Guard’s Bay has been launched, and arrived here this morning, very little damage having been done. Schooner hissing. The schooner Colleen Bawn, which left here for Havelock, on May 1, is missing, and is supposed to bo lost. XiTew Synagogue at Christchurch. Christchurch, May 31. It is proposed to, erect a New Synagogue at., a cost .of £2,000; £350 has has been promised. Fatal Accidents G. S. Taylor, who injured luVspine by falling from a cart, dic.d to-day. CHRISTCHURCH. , [from our own correspondent.] The jockey Hankins, rider of Magic, who was injured at the Grand National has taken a dangerous turn. His horse seems to have rolled over him and dragged him by the stirrup. A serious phase of concussion of the brain lias supervened, and the worst results are feared.
