[Reuter's Agency.] A raise Alarm. Sydney, May 20* The alarming report with reference to the Genii is denied by the representative here of the Marquis De Eays. He explains that the vessel merely conveys a colonising party to New Ireland and her cargo consists of machinery and tools. The alarm is probably due to the fact that there is a corps of 211 Gendarmes aboard. The International Boating; Contest. A meeting was held last night to arrange for the collection of subscriptions to defray Trickett’s expenses to England. The sum of £4OO was subscribed in the room. 5 On the Blgfct Side of the Bedg;or. Brisbane, May 29. The exports of Queensland for the past year shows an increase of nearly £280,000, as compared with 1878, but the imports show a decrease of nearly £300,000.
