PRESENTIMENT.

A writer in the Castlomaine [Representative remarks :—A pseudo sort of interest is again revived in Spiritualism by the alleged remarks of the late Archdeacon Innes, of Hamilton. The first story was that the Archdeacon had seen the spirit of a late lay-reader, and the spirit had told him that he (the Archdeacon) would soon be where he (the spirit) was. Later on, it seemed that this was inaccurate, and that the Archdeacon’s written memo, was : “ A few nights after poor Lisserman’s death, I was in the house alone, and his room rattled so that I ran up to see what it was. I looked into the dark room and saw nothing, so I said with a laugh to myself, ‘lt must be old Lisscrman. What do you want? Then came an answer, not audible, but such as possibly a spirit can convey, ‘[Never mind, you’ll follow mo soon.’ It was singular I never told any one.” Mr Lisserman died a month before the Archdeacon, and the latter expired less than twenty-four hours after writing the singular memo, we have been called upon to publish. Unless to accept the fact that the Archdeacon was perfectly delirious at the time he wrote the memo., it is evident that he must have had something more than a mere bias to Spiritualism or ho never would have attributed any rattling in a room to “ old Lisserman.” It is only right it should be explicitly stated if the late Archdeacon w r as counted among the spiritualists, in which case the whole business is explained.
