Frank Fowler, a Chinaman, was charged on the information of police Sergeant Carlyon. with committing a rape on Mary Kant, at Epworth, near Temuka. The accused was arrested at Temuka, yesterday, and as there was no court sitting then, he was brought on to Timaru, Ho was remanded, at the request of the police, to Temuka, and will appear to answer the charge made against him at the Court there on Wednesday next. The Court then adjourned.
