LOSS OF A CUTTER AND ALL HANDS.
SECOND EDITION
[By Telegraph,] Bluff, May 21. A cutter, supposed to be the Ariel, foundered during the night on the outer sand spit, three-quarters of a mile from the last pilot station. The pilot boat went olf, but did nothing owing to the heavy sea. The cutter held on to tho spit by her anchors, but her mast is gone. All hands are supposed to bo lost. LATER PARTICULARS. This morning traces of a Avrcck on tho spit olf Bog Island Averc discovered. A pilot boat put olf. The vessel is believed to be the ketch Anna, bound for Riverton from Dunedin.
